A 108 bead Mala is the size most commonly associated with Buddhist Practice. This Mala is typically worn around the neck, wrapped several times around the wrist, and used to count Mantras by several traditions.
There are several possible Main Component Categories to choose items in to build your Custom 108 Bead Mala. There is a brief description of each component below the heading. Several are required and a few are optional.
Keep in mind the color scheme you are envisioning throughout the design process. Choose colors, tones, and themes that work well together. But, this is your Mala so experiment and do whatever you want! Be sure to see info on most of the bead types in the right column.
Click on the image for your selection in each category – note that there may be multiple pages of images per section. You can clear your selection at the bottom of each category. You can also zoom in on your selection at the bottom of each section for a larger image. (remember – you *must* make a choice in the current component section before you can go on to the next; but you can always go back and change a previous selection)
